Earlier today, a friend shared a link in the group chat and added “From the blog posts that could’ve been tweets department”. And yeah, the post was short. But I really bristled at them saying that it would’ve been better fired off as a post or short thread on social media.

Even though it’d be pretty fair to say that I’m all in on social media — I mean, I run a Hometown server for myself and a few friends — I really think that people should be blogging more and tooting/tweeting/yeeting less.

Hell, thanks to the ActivityPub plugin for WordPress, this thing that you’re reading right now is both a blog post and a toot. So, uh, everything’s made up and the points don’t matter, I guess?
